We live in a broken world, and most of us either know somebody in an unhealthy relationship or we ourselves are in one. Alot of times we conform to what the world does, and we forget about Gods best for us in our lives. We don't have to live like this though, and it all starts with having a relationship with God. With God we have the ability to break the chains of unhealthy relationships, and put an end to unhealthy destructive cycles. Of course if nobody has ever told us about God, or we've never learned about His best then we are living in this dark world without any sight of light. The first place to start is the bible. There are so many bibles out there it's hard to know which one to choose. I personally feel that it's all about how you understand things. If you get a bible that seems like a different language then the words on the page with simply only ever be just words on a page for you. However if you get a bible that you truly understand then the words can speak to you, and you can learn how to allow them to your life. One of my favorite bibles is the Message bible, along with the NIV study bible ( You can check out my "I Recommend " box at the top right corner of this site for a full list of my personal recommendations. ) Another great resource is finding a devotional and taking time daily to read it. This can be a great step in becoming closer to God, and His best for your life. If you are mapping out personal time to spend with God on a daily basis this is a HUGE step! Keeping a journal is another great thing to do in your walk with God. It is a good way to get your thoughts down, record your prayers, and later reflect on your growth. We need to begin with a strong solid foundation, and that can only be done with God. All other relationships come after our relationship with Him, and once you learn about His best for your life you will understand why. So I encourage you to dig out your bibles, dust them off, and get to reading!

Do your feel alone in your struggles?
Today i want to talk a little bit about when we are going through a struggle, and we feel alone. First of all the father of lies ( Satan ) wants you to believe that you are alone, but the truth is that we are never alone for God is ALWAYS there with us. Sometimes we pray, and pray, and cry our hearts out to the Lord, but we don't think we hear anything back. This can be for several reasons. One is that alot of times in the midst of panic, and anxiety our own minds are racing a million miles a minute. We can't usually shut our thoughts off, or quiet our own thinking. We may be praying, even shouting to the Lord, but we ourselves are not quiet enough to hear Him speak to us. Another reason could be that We do hear Him, but we are in denial because we don't like His answer. That's right...God is not a genie who grants your wishes. Just because you say Hey God i want xyz doesn't mean He is going to say yes! In fact God does say no, or not right now sometimes. What we may think is best for us, might not be whats actually best for us. God however knows what's best for us because He is our creator, and He would never steer us in the wrong direction, even if we decide to go off on the wrong path. We are free to make our own choices both good and bad, but God is not going to lead us the wrong way. Now Satan...He will be more than willing to coax you into thinking the "wrong" way is in fact the "right" way. So how do you know the difference? Discernment! The BEST way to know if it is God leading you is to pick up your bible, and read it. Yes i said open up that bible of yours, and read!!! The bible is a book of truths. By learning your bible you will learn who God is, and the ways He would lead you. So for example if you feel that God is leading you into a relationship, but you want to make sure it's God and not Satan leading you, then consult your bible. Lookup what God looks for in a mate for you. Take a look at the person you feel lead to and compare notes. Good scriptures to lookup on that subject by the way: ( and there is LOTS of them...Hey it's its a VERY important decision! Do your homework. )
2 Corinthians 6:14
Proverbs 31:10-31 ( one of my faves)
In conclusion don't believe you are ever alone. Your not ever alone. God IS always with you even when you don't feel He is. Here is a link to another website that i found that deals directly with what God says about discernment. ( I found this great link on this subject!!! http://www.acts17-11.com/discern.html )
